A Summer of Ice, Stories, and Shifts in Greenland
This summer has been one of the most transformative of my life. Standing before audiences at sea, sharing Greenland’s stories, I felt something shift. Not only in how others saw this place, but in how I carry it forward. My lecture series closed to warmth and curiosity I couldn’t have imagined when I began this path.
In between, I pressed the shutter more than 30,000 times, trying to capture not just icebergs and horizons, but also the moments of quiet humanity in Greenland’s remotest corners. The Rockwell Kent project, too, found its own conclusion, another reminder that the threads of Greenland’s history still reach into today.
Of course, not everything glittered like ice in the midnight sun. Delays in Nuuk tested patience, and I came away more convinced than ever that Greenland deserves better from the companies who come here. Too many arrive without leaning on local knowledge, without investing in the operators who live and breathe this land.
This is just the beginning of what I want to share. In the weeks ahead, I’ll take you deeper into the ice, the stories, the challenges, and the people who made this summer unforgettable.
Stay tuned there’s much more beneath the surface.
