What happens when an anthropologist, a biologist, a shaman, and an engineer meet in Greenland...

It hit me hard. 10 years of Greenland being my passion and focus.

My mission for my work in Greenland has evolved. Witnessing the relationship between the hunters and the wildlife truly opened my eyes to a new approach to conservation opportunities for both the bears and for the indigenous traditions. Many consider them diametrically opposed but there is a way to do both. It took a biologist, anthropologist, activist, hunter, engineer and shaman to come together to make this happen in my mind. But we have arrived. I'm very excited to start this chapter of my story. Meeting the bears in person and looking in their eyes was so powerful.

If advocacy and polar bear conservation are your thing, please reach out. I'm forming an initiative and we will need advisors.

Also consider coming with us to Northeast Greenland.

What a privilege to make a portrait of this young bear in my favorite fjord in the world! I will be going every May for the foreseeable future. Indigenous traditions and wildlife in the remotest town in Greenland. So much to learn and marvel over. I'm in awe every time I visit Greenland but this trip was the most special yet.

Even though I clicked the shutter button on my camera, I am sharing the credit with my guide and friend, A. Barselajsen. He is the only reason I was able to see this and document it.

Stay tuned for more info about our trips. Nothing can inspire action more than immersion.
