Here is a snapshot of silence and stillness in Greenland. I have had this one hanging in my home for two years. It works so well in any room. Once experienced in a large format, this image captivated me. This is the perfect image that encapsulates the thaw of late spring and early summer. Unfortunately, if the ice continues on its current trajectory, images like this will become increasingly rare.

As a principle, I do not do much editing to my photos. At most, I may adjust tones and brightness because I intentionally bracket or shoot dark to preserve details. This is what it looked like to the naked eye and I’m grateful to our brave captain that got us to our destination safely. Ready to hang giclée printed by the artist on polyester canvas.
