Lulu Series

One large, trapped iceberg in Scoresbysund, Northeast Greenland 2022. Shot numerous times over two months in different light and from different angles in the comfort of the Ittoqqortoormiit Guesthouse. We had so many moments of brilliant soft pastel skies and the mountains on the other side of the fjord sometimes appeared distorted because of a mirage effect that can be observed there. I name landmarks so I, arbitrarily, named this berg Lulu.

Although she was just a temporary resident, Lulu made her mark on me because she was the first iceberg I have ever walked up to and touched. Lulu was the height of a small sky scraper with peaks and valleys a brilliant blue stripe that was sometimes visible.

This is a tribute to her. She floated away and melted when the sea ice thawed in the summer of 2022.
